Liru and Guo Dali Rural Library
Liru and Guo Dali is a rural library complex located in Xitang Village, Guangdong Province, China. The complex is composed of two book houses and landscape structures that enclose them. Overlapped double-layer enclosure structures shade the interiors from sun and rain and reduce energy use in a hot and rainy region. The outer facade is made of traditional pottery tiles and Chinese fir strips, while fair-faced concrete and glass are used within. Almost all materials come from the local area. The buildings offer space for exhibitions, reading and rest.
