Osamu Oji is the founder and CEO of USEYA Co., Ltd., an XR, AI and spatial computing company established in Osaka, Japan in 2008. He also serves as Visiting Associate Professor at the Super City Research Center of Osaka Metropolitan University, connecting industry practice with academic research. His core work is SHUGI, a platform that uses smart glasses, AI and motion capture to digitize the tacit skills of expert workers and transfer them to the next generation. He also operates UAI, a digital fabrication and XR remote manufacturing laboratory in Izumi City, Osaka, where companies, students and international interns develop new products together. His work has received the iF DESIGN AWARD, the A' Design Award, and the Director-General of the Kinki Bureau of Telecommunications Prize at the KANSAI DX AWARD. His research on skill digitization has been accepted at international academic conferences. Through a subsidiary in Dubai and partnerships in Europe, he aims to deliver Japanese craftsmanship and skill transfer technology to the world.
