OYU is a Japanese artist and creative director based in Tokyo, and the founder of ATELIER OYU. Through her original concept, SOUSAKU IKEBANA, she creates spatial art that expresses presence beyond the form of flowers. In recent years, she has collaborated with traditional Japanese artisans, using porcelain panels by Koransha, a long-established Arita porcelain manufacturer, as her canvas. Through these collaborative works, she reinterprets traditional Japanese craftsmanship as contemporary art. Her works have been presented internationally through exhibitions, awards, and publications.
